Night on Earth consists of five comedy stories that take place in parallel on different continents and in different time zones and languages. Each story focuses on a brief relationship that develops between taxi drivers and passengers as they drive through the nighttime streets, sharing the interior of a car on their journey from point A to point B. The story begins at dusk in Los Angeles and continues through nighttime New York, Paris and Rome to Helsinki, where the sun rises again as the last story ends and the winter night is replaced by daylight.
