About

Anne and Georges watch a long video recording of their street and house, taken by an anonymous person. The mysterious messages that Georges receives, which go deep into his past, slowly erode not only his life, but his relationship with his wife and his inner integration, his personal grounding in life, work, and family is crumbling. Gradually he is able to answer the questions of who and why. But to revisit all this after all this time? Outstanding performances by Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche enhance a powerful story about guilt, conscience and human failure. Michael Haneke won the Cannes Directing Prize, the FIPRESCI Award and the Ecumenical Jury Prize for this film. He also received four European Film Awards and many other awards around the world.
