About

Claude and Marie Verneuil are provincial lovers of good old France by birth, strong believing Catholics, and among the respected citizens of their neighborhood. They also have four daughters, Isabelle, Odile and Ségolène, and Laure. In bringing them up, they have always tried to apply rather conservative methods and tried to instil the right values in them – theirs, that is. However, today's times confront the Verneuils with many things that are definitely not to their liking, such as multiculturalism, religious tolerance and similar contemporary fictions. Yet the Verneuils almost always force themselves to understand these changes, even though they often set them up for difficult trials in life. And so, too, they have had to swallow three weddings in succession that were certainly not to their ideal liking. For the first daughter marries a Muslim, the second a Jew, and the third marries a Chinese. Then try to imagine what a big family reunion at Christmas looks like with this line-up. Their only and last hope of a „real“ church wedding is with their youngest daughter who, hallelujah, has met Charles, a proper Catholic. But…

The film contains only the Czech dubbed version.
