Julien Temple to KVIFF.TV: Shane MacGowan is a different person with each
interlocutor in film.
Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan was introduced at 55th KVIFF by
Hollywood star Johnny Depp, who produced the documentary and also appears in it,
and director Julien Temple, one of the world’s leading music film makers. In
an interview, Temple explains how ex-Sinn Fein chief Gerry Adams also ended up
in the film about the one-time Pogues frontman, and discusses whether MacGowan
could have produced more great work if he had curtailed his prodigious drinking.
