Actor Daniel Brühl is one of the biggest stars in contemporary European cinema and has also enjoyed great success in Hollywood. On Thursday he presented his directorial debut, Next Door, at KVIFF and also received its President’s Award. In a red carpet interview, Brühl discussed his plans to direct a new picture in Prague, his increasing wish to escape his comfort zone, and how European cinema must be defended.
