About

Since the wolves were recognised as an endangered species and their protection began, the wolf population in Central Europe has been increasing. Wolves on the Border focuses on a society that is both fascinated and terrified by the wolf. Despite the fact that many people see wolves as a chance for the restoration of wild nature, there are also many who do not want wolves in the wild and would like to drive them out of their homes. The film is set in the Broumov region on the border between the Czech Republic and Poland. In recent years, the region has faced numerous attacks by wolves on herds of sheep. Society is thus divided between those who fight the wolves and those who try to protect them. Through the personal stories of the selected protagonists, the film looks deeply into the motivation of people to act in this way and touches upon the archetypal theme of „man versus nature“.
