About

The story of a survivor on a tropical island, inhabited by turtles, crabs and birds, is also a universal story of all crucial moments in human life. Oscar-winning director Michaël Dudok de Wit tells the story of self-discovery, love, parenthood and the passing of generations without words, only with the help of craft-perfect animation. This magical film, which can be understood across generations and continents, won the Special Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes and is the first European co-production by the cult Japanese studio Ghibli.
