The deep forests have hidden countless secrets and inscrutable mysteries since time immemorial. They are home to wondrous mythical creatures who live among the ancient trees and faithfully guard their sacred forest realm. And it is the fairy Mavka who is the newly elected guardian and soul of the forest. Her main mission is to protect the sacred Heart of the Forest, the source of life itself, against all evil and the world of men. But many of the forest's inhabitants doubt whether the kind and gentle fairy Mavka can handle her new duties. In a village not far from the forest lives Lucas, a village boy who loves music above all else, especially playing the flute. He dreams of dedicating his whole life to this passion. And it is his music that triggers something truly remarkable; Mavka hears his enchanting song and her heart is filled with a previously unknown emotion.
