Czech director Adam Martinec presented his feature debut Our Lovely Pig Slaughter, which is in contention for the Crystal Globe, at the 58th Karlovy Vary IFF. The film takes place over one day at a traditional rural celebration, with both pigs and emotions starting to get out of hand. In an interview, Martinec discusses the original spark of the film, his own relationship to pig killings and why he cast his own father, a non-actor, in a key role.
