Yves Saint Laurent heads to Paris at the age of 17 and becomes an associate of Christian Dior. He is considered one of the best fashion designers of his time. In November 1957, at the age of just 21, he is asked to oversee the fashion house of the recently deceased Christian Dior. Laurent becomes the new artistic director. He immediately presents his first haute couture collection, which becomes an instant hit. During the fashion show, he meets Pierre Bergé, his future love and partner in life and business. Three years later, they create the Yves Saint Laurent brand together. Laurent suffers from depression and gets high on alcohol and drugs. Despite his inner demons and doubts, he manages to turn the sleepy world of fashion upside down. His name becomes a symbol of creativity and luxury. His designs change and create new trends in fashion.
