The Year of the Devil brings together a folk legend, a Dutch documentary
filmmaker and a group of hired musicians who play at funerals. Jaromír Nohavica
invites the band Čechomor to tour together, hoping to help cure his friend
Karel Plíhal. The musicians of Čechomor believe it will make them famous, and
a Dutch filmmaker thinks he has found a subject for a new film. Everything goes
well, but everyone gains more than they had hoped for at the beginning.
The skilled mystifier Petr Zelenka with his film about friendship, miracles and
angelic and diabolical temptations won the Crystal Globe at the 37th KVIFF.
