The Oddsockeaters

“Never take the entire pair!” is the mantra of the Oddsockeaters, the creatures responsible for our socks just disappearing into thin air, leaving us with a pile of odd ones. About forty centimetres long, these cheeky little devils inhabit every household and they live on socks. Sometimes they even stock up on them, like robber Big Boss for instance, whose nephew Hugo has just come to stay with him. Big Boss is a gangster of the old school – he only ever takes one sock at a time. Others aren’t so principled and take everything. And Hugo, who wants to find a new family, ends up caught between two enemy clans… Developed at Alkay Animation Prague over a period of three and a half years, this adaptation of the bestselling children’s books by writer Pavel Šrut and illustrator Galina Miklínová is set in an animated version of contemporary Prague.
