The End of Old Times
One day, the supposed Russian prince Alexei Megalrogov appears at the post-war regent Stoklasa's castle in Kratochvíle. He charms the whole society with his gallant behaviour and brings the romance of the old times to the down-to-earth reality, but its days are already numbered.

Jiří Menzel's film based on Vladislav Vančura's novel of the same name is set shortly after WWI at the stately home Kratochvíl, where among the new agrarian elite appears a fascinating guest, the Russian exile Megalrogov.
