About

For five-year-old Jack, the room is the whole world. It's where he was born and raised and where he lives safely with his mom, Joy. Together they read, learn, play. Jack learns about the world through several children's books and children's television shows. Everything outside the room is fictional, only the room is real. At night, his mother always puts him in the safety of the closet to sleep before Old Nick, their captor, arrives. The room is home for Jack, but for his mom it is a prison in which Old Nick has kept them for over seven years. Through determination, ingenuity and a mother's fervent love, Joy has managed to create a life for Jack in which he is unaware of the limits of their prison. The film adaptation of Emma Donoghue's bestselling book Room is a unique and moving story of boundless love between mother and child that is both deeply suspenseful and deeply emotional.
