Mario is a long-distance bus driver, always gloomy and grumpy, bored with his life, his marriage and his job. But the bus is his castle and whatever Mario says is what counts. Mario has driven his bus all his life to take pensioners to the seaside in Croatia and now he is about to retire himself. For his last job, he accepts a special commission. He's taking a bunch of loud youngsters to the seaside campsite for a music festival. It doesn't take long for mutual resentment to set in. But this last trip of the Paradise Trips bus will give Mario a chance to remember what it is like to rejoice, to enjoy life, to let go of his worries. It will also give him a second chance to find his way back to the son he hasn't seen in years and has never been able to tell him that he loves him.

This Belgian tragicomedy won three prizes at the Oostende festival.
