About

The film Brothers tells one of the greatest stories of the Cold War about the resistance group of brothers Josef and Ctirad Mašín. About the desire to resist injustice and oppression, the need to shout when others are silent. A group of young boys show not only uncompromising courage, as their father did against the Nazis at the cost of his own life, but also immaturity, inexperience and errors in judgment. The film tells one of the defining stories of our modern history, the fascinating adventure of the greatest manhunt in the Communist Bloc of the 1950s. Its undeniable power also lies in its message, still relevant today and universally understandable, that freedom is impossible to live without and must be fought for. The Brothers is also a very powerful story of a family persecuted by both the Nazis and the Communists who sacrificed much for their country and its freedom.
