Milo lives in a home for maladjusted girls. While the others struggle with their problematic behaviour, Milo faces a far greater struggle as she transitions behind the walls of the institution. The only one who sees and supports his*her change is his caregiver Nicki, who is both a male role model and the person into whom Milo projects his desired identity. But the walls of the institution are too thin for Milo not to one day hear*a bitter piece of news that will turn his*world upside down. The Change is not only a film about the fragility of gender identity, but also about the importance of support from those around us in moments when our perception of ourselves is changing.
