Competing in the East of the West competition at 55th KVIFF was the Lithuanian film Runner. Ahead of the world premiere, we spoke to its director Andrius Blaževičius and lead actor Žygimantė Elena Jakštaitė, who was named a Shooting Star of European cinema at 2021 Berlin IFF. The two agreed that filming Runner was unusually physically and mentally demanding. What’s more, it was Jakštaitė’s first major movie experience.
