Lisa Bierwirth for KVIFF.TV: I didn’t want to tell my own
mother’s story.
Le Prince by Lisa Bierwirth, centred on a romance between a white German art
curator and a Congolese immigrant with big plans, is among the films competing
for the Crystal Globe at KVIFF.
In an interview before the world premiere of her feature debut, the German
director explains how a situation in her own family inspired the powerful, human
drama and discusses the qualities her two leads bring to the film.
