Adam Driver
Five films by one of today's busiest actors.
California-born Adam Driver chose a career in the army at an early age,
specifically in the navy, which he was forced to leave due to an injury, and
then went on to study drama at the Juilliard School in New York. He gained
attention for his portrayal of Adam Sackler in the cult TV series Girls, and not
long afterwards a great run of smaller roles (Lincoln, Frances Ha, Inside Llewyn
Davis) launched his career. The big breakthrough in Driver's career came with a
starring role in Martin Scorsese's Silence and, of course, the character of
Kylo Ren in the Star Wars saga. His memorable roles definitely include the bus
driver with the soul of a poet in Jarmusch's Paterson and, of course, those
that earned him Academy Award nominations in BlacKkKlansman and Marriage Story.
More recently, he has shone in Annette Leox Carax's musical, Ridley
Scott's House of Gucci, and most recently in director Michael Mann's biopic
Ferrari.
On KVIFF.TV you can watch five films that demonstrate the incredibly wide acting
range of Adam Driver, who has just celebrated his 40th birthday.
