Veronika, a Polish woman, meets her double, a young French tourist, in Krakow's Market Square. After Veronika's death, the French woman Véronique seems to follow parallel paths. The Double Life of Veronique, an adventure between France and Poland, is Krzysztof Kieslowski's first film made abroad, shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
