About

Steve Butler (Matt Damon) has been sent to the countryside in McKinley with his sales associate Sue Thomason. The town is suffering from protracted economic repression, and the two experienced businessmen find its residents easy prey – they intend to offer them money to buy the mining rights to their farmland, which, given the conditions, most will surely accept as a solution to their difficult financial situation. It looked like everything would be done in a few days. But things get complicated – firstly, the community considers everything together under the guidance of the esteemed teacher Frank Yates, and secondly, Steve falls for Alice. When sophisticated environmental activist Dustin Noble arrives on the scene, personal and professional dilemmas reach an all-time high.
