New York, 1974. Fifty-year-old Chris (Clive Owen), has just been released on good behavior after years in prison for a murder. Waiting for him outside is his younger brother Frank (Billy Crudup), a police officer with a promising future. Chris and Frank have always been different, but the blood ties between them have always worked perfectly and firmly. Chris gets a chance to return to normal life. Frank takes him in to his home and finds him a job. But Chris is no longer able to live a „normal“ life. Once again he finds himself on the ledge of crime and Frank erases him from his life. But by then it is too late, because it is the destiny of both brothers to stay together forever.
