Where does the Central-Eastern European audiovisual market stand? In 2023, 2 regions in the world have seen an increase in content investment: Asia Pacific Region and the CEE. Recent press announcements further highlighted the new importance of the region: Netflix will establish a headquarters in Warsaw, Amazon reorganised its European team in giving priority to 2 regions including the CEE, and there are further parallels between the present day CEE and the Nordic countries 10 years back. Is this parallel relevant? What can we learn from this comparison? For the present but also for the future: can we predict the future in looking back to the past of the Nordic?
