Fatih Abay, Diversity & Inclusion Officer of European Film Academy aims to show that diversity and inclusion should not be seen as an imposed asset but rather as an organic part of various ecosystems of the film landscape. By spotlighting stories from underrepresented communities in regard to ethnicity, LGTBQIA* identity, gender, disability and other diversity and inclusion parameters, we explore how these narratives contribute to a more inclusive, empathetic, and resilient society. This session will delve into the transformative power of diverse narratives in challenging stereotypes, bridging cultural divides, and fostering empathy, and highlight the importance of platforms that amplify underrepresented voices, the impact of diverse stories on social cohesion, and the economic and cultural benefits of a more inclusive narrative film landscape.
