On July 8, 2023, the festival juries awarded the best films of the 57th edition. IFF Karlovy Vary. The awards were presented during the closing ceremony. The Grand Prize in the Crystal Globe Competition went to the Bulgarian film Blaga's Lessons, the Special Jury Prize to Empty Nets, the Directing Award to Babak Jalali for the film Fremont. The Best Actress award went to Eli Skorcheva for her role in the winning film Blaga's Lessons, and the Best Actor award went to Herbert Nordrum for his role in Hypnosis. A special mention went to Dancing on the Edge of a Volcano. The audience voted the French historical film The Edge of the Blade as the best film (Audience Award of the Právo daily).
