In order to prevent the Czech Republic from disappearing from the map of the world's audiovisual industry, legislative changes are inevitable, as well as changes in the way in which the incentive system has been working so far. Therefore, a new State Audiovisual Fund will be created, which will support four pillars: in addition to classical cinema, online film and television production, animation and gaming. „More money will be distributed among more areas of support,“ Minister Martin Baxa promised at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. He also pledged to review the mechanism by which film incentives are awarded. It is not bad, he said, but its „flies“ have been exposed by its rapid development.
