Seymour Moskowitz (Seymour Cassel), a long-haired parking attendant with an
overgrown handlebar moustache, has just moved from New York to Los Angeles.
Anxious beauty Minnie (Gena Rowlands) works as a curator for the local modern
art museum and is involved in a degrading affair with a married man (John
Cassavetes). She is rescued from a disastrous blind date by the elemental
Seymour, who at length decides with unfeigned sincerity that Minnie is the one
for him.
