A feminist body-horror. A take on adolescence as a time when young women are continually forced to reassess their appearance and made to fit into the “nice, sweet girl” category. A detective story about young girls who vanish under mysterious circumstances in a small town, and it’s here that 17-year-old Jonny has been sent to live with her eccentric aunt (Alicia Silverstone). On her 18th birthday the aunt entrusts Jonny with a family secret, possibly both a curse and a gift, which might help to find the kidnapper.
