In the hot summer of 1982, an innocent love blossoms between two young Italians. However, their situation is complicated by the strongly homophobic environment of a Sicilian town. Seventeen-year-old Gianni has undergone an involuntary coming out and faces constant attacks, while Nino lives his life in a loving family in sweet ignorance of his sexuality. Chance brings them together and the boys become inseparable friends. Soon, however, their relationship grows into pure love and all they want is to live their love story without fear. Sicilian society, as explosive as the fireworks that Nino's father deals in, does not forgive difference. Will innocence and emotion triumph over conservatism and harshness, or will it flare up and leave only bitter, iridescent smoke? A film based on true events that will thaw the heart and convince you that true love exists.
