A dark romantic comedy about love, which can blossom at any age and under any regime. Mahin, an older woman with a zest for life, refuses to accept her loneliness. Setting out in search of good fortune, she manages to find a man with a charming smile who, like her, also belongs to the last generation that still remembers life in Iran before the Islamic Revolution. Besides introducing audiences to a wonderfully endearing pair eager to imbibe life (and wine) to the fullest, the film – which began its journey by winning the FIPRESCI Award at the Berlinale – also juxtaposes the memories of the older generation with the theocratic reality of contemporary Iran.
