Indeed, in Grand Tour, one of the most original directors of our time does not merely present us with the tragicomic tale of one relationship but, as in his previous films, he approaches the cinematic medium as a place where one can travel through space and time thanks to creative editing and a big dose of cognitive dissonance. A true treat for cinephiles, his latest film (which does not shy away from Hollywood studio film tropes) is part love story, part imaginative travelogue, and part contemporary documentary.
