Meet the Filmmakers
The world has been gripped by a pandemic which causes sudden amnesia. Aris becomes part of a special programme designed to help him build a new identity. Equipped with a camera, he is sent out to fill his mind with new memories and, along the way, he meets Anna, a woman in the same situation as himself… In his beguilingly melancholic debut, Greek director Christos Nikou examines issues of identity and considers the role recollections play in our lives, along with the myriad emotions triggered by faded Polaroid photos. The film opened Orrizonti in Venice, where it justifiably earned unanimous praise from the critics and won viewers’ hearts.
