There are not many filmmakers who alternate between animation and live-action film, and with such success. Michaela Pavlátová has won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale (Repete) or an Oscar nomination (Words, Words, Words) for her short animated films. Her feature films have won awards at the San Sebastian Festival (Unfaithful Games) or Karlovy Vary (Night Owls). And her animated feature My Sunny Maad won the French César Award in addition to a Golden Globes nomination.
